This is a movie about being a newspaper reporter but also about a strange love between a man and his ex wife. This movie I didn't find as humorous as Arsenic and Old Lace but it was okay. I don't really see anything that I can really improve about this movie except that it was a little hard to follow at times. For the most part I just couldn't figure out if this movie was a love movie or a comedy movie. I guess it is a strange sort of love movie.

I enjoyed this movie. I thought that it combined a lot of good things. First I thought that it was hysterical when the husband and wife would constantly make fun of each other. Then as you watch the movie you are sure that their is more to each of the couples stories than they are telling. Eventually all of these secrets come out, including the biggest one of all at the end of the movie. I thought that it was a good movie but some of the dialogue at times was a little hard to follow. Overall rating: 8.0

Lawrence of Arabia

I thought that this movie was pretty good but just too long for one sitting. I mean the length really lets you see the changes in Lawrence, but it is just too hard to watch a movie for four hours. This movie is about a man who goes to the desert and becomes part of the desert. He seems to get completely confused about his identity, and the desert takes its toll on him. A great performance by Peter O' Toole. Overall Rating: 8.1

Deliverance

I thought that this was a good movie. I was expecting a little more to happen with the wilderness and a little less of the people actually dealing with theirselves. This is probably one of the most realistic and raw movies that I have ever seen. Just a couple of ordinary guys who are trying to go on a canoeing trip and end up with some deaths to deal with. Their guilt and sticking with their story are the two main problems that they come across. Overall Rating: 7.9

This movie was pretty original in that it is probably the only rock n roll musical ever. This movie is sort of a play off of the horror stereotypes. It also resembles Grease in the music. It is very sexual, as a matter of fact the whole movie sort of revolves around sex because of the star Tim Curry. I don't really know what kind of person writes a movie like this but people still watch it all the time. Overall Rating: 6.6

Life of Brian

This movie was pretty funny. There is something about British comedy that never has you completely dying of laughter. I think that it is because so much of it is intellectual comedy when nowadays we are so used to physical comedy or just a bunch of guys doing drugs. But for the pun of the whole movie it is pretty funny and it is amazing how many different characters each actor plays. Overall Rating: 7.4

I mean I don't really know what to say about this movie. I think that it may be the best movie about alien life that I have ever seen. I mean, it is so believable that it is almost scary. I think that the best part of this movie is that they don't get too rapped up with people communicating with the aliens like they are just someone from another country. The government trying to cover it up and the people considered to be strange for believing in what they saw is exactly how you would expect it to be. Overall Rating: 9.1

I thought that this movie all in all was pretty stupid. I thought that it was basically a poor attempt to mix a black guy and a white girl in a western movie. Burt Reynolds plays sort of a good role in an almost Mel Gibson like character in Lethal Weapon. But as for the rest of the movie the only thing about it is that Racquel Welsch is so beautiful. This is a poor attempt at modernizing the western movie. Overall Rating: 4.4

Jaws

Jaws is the classic movie about an animal that everyone is scared of. People may have become much more scared of Sharks since this movie has come out. This is one of the most realistic horror movies of all time. Jaws was believable which helps to make the people fear the shark more. It almost had the same sort of idea as Moby Dick in the search for the whale. Overall Rating: 9.3

The Godfather Part II

I found this to be very slow and one of the longest movies I have ever seen. It was definitely not the best of the Godfather trilogy. I didn't understand the point of showing young Vito Corleone. The movie makes Al Pacino look like an asshole and he doesn't kill enough people. I not only thought this movie was slow but I found it to be fairly stupid. He should have killed the people who were messing with him right away and not at the end. Overall Rating: 8.4

I thought that this movie was pretty funny especially for an older movie. It is sort of a mix between a silent comedy and a three stooges show. I thought that the one thief and the captain completely make the show with their comedy. The women don't really show me much at all as you can hardly tell who is who. This wacky comedy about the theft of a painting is a kind of Cluelike whodoneit. Just some comedy to enjoy.

I thought this was a very entertaining movie. It combined laughter with a little bit of suspense. I thought that the story was just so clever. It sort of had a childish kind of comedy to it but it was still funny. When comparing old comedy to new comedy you have to remember that comedy often comes from awkward situations. Not always sex and bad language. I thought the demeanor of the two old ladies was the best part of the movie. Overall Rating: 7.9

All About Eve

I thought that this movie was pretty good. It is about a woman who does just about anything to become a star. It is about a star and a woman who wants to become one herself. This movie is very strong dialogue and a lot of verbal arguing. The one thing that I liked about this movie is that the ending fit the beginning so well and you see that the same thing can happen all the time in the theatre. I also liked how the movie was about the theatre and not about the movies. Overall Rating: 7.8

The Manchurian Candidate

I thought that this movie was excellent. It is a movie about a man who is brainwashed to do the deeds of the Russians during the cold war. This then transfers to a struggle between him and his mother for who really controls his actions. They do a good job of showing you what is going on but not giving you too much information. Sometimes movies like this either reveal everything at the beginning or conceal everything for too long. Overall Rating: 9.2

This movie is an amazing piece of filmmaking. I dont really have any way to make this movie any better then it is. I mean it is nothing like a normal Vietnam movie and that is a good thing. I thought that it would get caught in the normal war movie routine but it doesnt. This is a movie about the effects of Vietnam and about Russian Roulette. Deniro gives an amazing performance. This movie is about companionship and is a powerful story. Overall Rating: 9.7

I thought that the effects in this movie were totally rediculous. For the most part the whole movie was rediculous. The only reason that I think that this movie was not that bad is that it sort of came together at the end. The boy ended up shooting a man in the back because he had to, just like his father had to. The entire movie the father is getting ridiculed because he shot a man in the back but then the son realizes that sometimes things don't work out so perfect. Overall Rating: 6.8

I didn't think that this movie was as funny as it was supposed to be. I don't really get in to too many of the Mel Brooks movies. I thought that it was okay but it was not as funny as the Abbott and Costello spoof off of Frankenstein. I guess the best character in this movie is definitely Igor. The movie also seemed to get a little funnier as the movie went on which is rare. Overall Rating: 6.9

The Man in the Gray Flannel Suit

I thought that this was a very good movie. Gregory Peck stars as a man that you watch go though his life and his life with his wife. He learns the way that business in run and how that it is not as simple as black and white. I am not really sure I liked the way that this movie ended. I thought that it would be a little more of a business controversy and a little less of a love story. But I guess the whole object to the movie is that as long as you have your love and are happy money is not as important because the rich have problems also. Overall Rating: 7.7

I thought that this movie was pretty stupid as I was watching it. I mean it seems like this guy is telling a boring story about a man who pours a bucket of water on a girl. I think that this movie ended up being a different sort of love story about a man who loves a woman and a woman who loves a man while playing strange games with each other. I guess what really kept me interested in this movie is to see how this guy would deal with that because if it was me, I would have killed that girl. Overall Rating: 7.1

I didn't think this movie was very good. I thought that this mystery had the potential to be much better but it just fell short. The ending of the movie is rather stupid. It probably was suspenseful at the time. I think the ending could have been better if James Stewart was thrown from his rear window, that would have been ironic. I thought it is unique how this movie filmed in one room. Overall Rating 8.4
